Dr. Sarah Mullen

Dr. Sarah Mullen is a highly accomplished physician who earned her Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) degree at McMaster University, followed by her medical training at the prestigious University of Toronto. She returned to McMaster for her residency in Ophthalmology and furthered her expertise through the Global Clinical Scholars’ Research Training Program at Harvard Medical School. Her academic journey has been marked by numerous accolades for excellence in academics, teaching, and research, including a distinguished resident research award from the Canadian Glaucoma Society. Dr. Mullen’s impactful research has been showcased at both national and international conferences and published in reputable journals such as the Canadian Journal of Ophthalmology and the Canadian Medical Association Journal. As an Assistant Clinical Professor at McMaster University, Dr. Mullen is deeply committed to training the next generation of ophthalmologists. Her compassionate approach to patient care has earned her multiple nominations as a "Miracle Worker" at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton, reflecting her dedication to going above and beyond for her patients.

With a heartfelt connection to the Barrie community where she grew up, she proudly received the Barrie Physician Recruitment Scholarship during her medical studies. Beyond her medical practice, Dr. Mullen finds joy in figure skating, pilates, and exploring the beauty of nature through all seasons. Her blend of expertise, compassion, and community spirit makes her an extraordinary asset to both her patients and the field of Ophthalmology.
