BEFORE...
On the day of your procedure please arrive at the Barrie LASIK Centre 30 minutes prior to your scheduled surgery. This gives us time to care of paperwork and prepare your eyes for the procedure. You'll be required to read and sign the consent form. Prior to surgery, we will give you Valium to relax you during surgery.
You will be taken to the surgical suite where a
technician will administer anesthetic drops to numb
the eye and prevent pain. You will also receive
antibiotic drops to prevent infection and anti-inflammatory
drops to reduce post-surgery discomfort. Dr. Tayfour
will then comfortably position you under the laser
microscope. The non-surgical eye is covered and
the other is prepared for surgery. You will then
be instructed to look at a flashing red light.
