Dr. Baseer U. KhanDr. Khan completed his medical school and residency in ophthalmology at the University of Toronto. He was honoured with the distinction as the “top cataract surgeon” of his graduating class. He then went on to do a fellowship in Glaucoma and Anterior Segment surgery. Dr. Khan is currently on staff at Southlake Regional Health Centre, North York General Hospital, Mount Sinai Hospital and Kensington Eye Institute. Dr. Khan was instrumental at establishing a leading glaucoma and anterior segment program in the Central LHIN. Dr. Khan is an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto, where he educates fellows, residents and medical students. In 2016, he went on to complete the Physician CEO program at the Kellogg School of Management and Business.

Due to his extensive experience and ability to handle complex cases he is often sought out by his colleagues to perform surgery on the most difficult cases. Dr. Khan is an innovator and researcher and has been a principal investigator in more than 15 clinical trials and has designed a number of surgical instruments.

A highly respected consultant and advisor to many medical-device and pharmaceutical companies, Dr. Khan was the first surgeon in Canada to use the Victus™ Femtosecond Laser for cataract surgery and was influential at introducing many intraocular implants to the market. He is the founder and medical director of Clarity, a full scope clinical, surgical and refractive practice in Vaughan, ON where he takes great pride in providing patients with the most advanced solutions for various eye conditions.

Outside of his clinical and surgical practice, Dr. Khan is also highly involved in humanitarian work, performing multiple surgical and teaching missions in Jordan, Vietnam, Haiti and Jamaica. Dr. Khan is the proud father of 4 boys with whom he enjoys tennis, swimming and camping.
