A
consultation provides us the vital information we
need to determine whether you qualify for Laser Vision Correction.
Here are some basic criteria and conditions that may prevent you
from receiving the procedure but we still recommend you come in
to see us.
To Receive Laser Vision Correction You Must:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Have a stable prescription for at least one year prior to
the procedure
- Be free of complicating diseases
- Have good eye health
Conditions That May Preclude You:
- Diseases of the eye such as cataract, glaucoma, kerataconus,
certain retinal and optic nerve diseases and some eye viruses
- Auto-immune or vascular diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis
or lupus that may affect healing
- Other health problems such as uncontrolled diabetes
- Pregnant or nursing women should wait two months after nursing
has discontinued
Even with some of these particular health issues, patients may
still be eligible for LASIK surgery, which is why we highly
recommend you schedule a complimentary consultation.
